photographywired is a blog that started out because two handsome and talented guys (Paul Broome and Stuart Mackenzie) shared a similar passion about photography and wanted to write about it.  The idea grew from the notion that pooling our resources and posts into one place would keep the momentum going whilst allowing us to still hold down our day jobs and force the site forward to its natural conclusion (fame, fortune, world domination and damn good photos).

A pleasant side effect of this partnership is that we both have very different experiences to draw on which will hopefully broaden the appeal of the blog…..one of us is a novice Nikon shooter the other is a Canon user. We both have a passion for good old fashioned film. So it should be an interesting mix and a great read.

The aim of the site is to share our thoughts about what’s going on in the world of photography whilst keeping readers informed with news, reviews, tutorials and even the odd podcast!  Make sure you take the opportunity to subscribe to the feed and also participate by joining our flickr group.

Backgound: I’ve always had a passion for photography, but only took it up in earnest a few years ago.  I grew up in West Yorkshire, went to University in Coventry, spent a couple of years in Scotland, then moved to Staffordshire a few years ago.

Profession: IT guy (but a nice one)

Background: I’ve been a long time web geek for years who has always held a passion for enjoying well crafted images. Over the last few years this has got me involved in taking pictures and now I’ve developed an almost obsessive passion for all things photographic. I guess I’d class myself as an enthusiastic amateur. I love photography and I eat, sleep and live it.

Gear: Nikon D80, 18-70mm kit lens, 50mm f1.8, sb600 and a small collection of bridge, compact and old skool film cameras.
